There is an opening at Phoenix Country Day School for a long-term substitute teaching position from August 19 – November 26th, 2013 This position is for a 5th grade geography teacher. The geographycourse is designed to provide the foundation of geographic knowledge necessary for our fifth-grade students to understand the concept of “place” and the interconnections therein, which includes the study of landforms, bodies of water, and political boundaries. It emphasizes the Five Themes of Geography by adopting a global perspective that includes Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Students will also explore cultural geography and how it is shaped, interconnected, and sometimes divided by geography.
