Memories
We will be celebrating the friendships we have made this year through various activities throughout the week. On Thursday, we will celebrate the end of the “season.” As a part of that we will be having a read-a-thon. The students may bring a pillow, a favorite stuffed animal, and a good book to read. We will also have a special lunch together. There will also be a spelldown next week. The date for that is to be determined. Finally, we are in the process of creating memory books for each child to keep. The students will have a chance to share special memories that they have with each other.
Here are a few memories from second grade that the students have already come up with:

Jordyn remembers when the pre-k class came to our classroom and we helped them draw a bucket.

Brando remembers when the Cultural Fair started. It was so much fun when everyone started coming. That was fun, big time.

Olivia remembers when she was MVP. She felt happy. MVP was really nice and the family and friends worked so hard, and it made her so happy.

McKinley remembers when she won second place for the second time in a ceramic competition. The piece she made was called “Hope of the Phoenix.” The judges liked it because it was so big. Miss Gurnee inspired her to keep trying because she messed up on it a lot.

Julia remembers when it was her first time going on the high dive. It was VERY FUN because it was high.

Bailey remembers the Cultural Fair!!! It was so fun. She loved having to make the podcast, too. It rocked!

Luke remembers when we first met and got to know each other, and we went so far with learning.

Abby remembers when Mrs. Tomlin asked her and a couple other people to make a poster for the mother bird and her babies. We all found lots of craft stuff and made a nest with a gumball in the middle, too. We glued it all on a poster board and drew on the poster. It was super fun!!!

Parker remembers when he and Bowen made a podcast by looking up information about Thailand and recorded our voices. He enjoyed being with Bowen.

Miles remembers when he earned his birthday charm and he was MVP the same week.

Aaron remembers when he got to go to Lake Pleasant because we got to make pictures.

Aiden remembers when he beat everyone in Track and Field. He was really proud, and his parents were there, too.

Bowen remembers the when the buzzer sounded at the swim exhibition and everyone went in the water. He also remembers getting out of the water and saying, “Go Eagles.”

Nina and Natalie said their favorite memory in 2nd grade was the Cultural Fair.

Kayla’s favorite memory was the Cultural fair because they got to learn about different cultures.

Parker’s favorite memory of 2nd grade was the swim meet.

Cole, Tyler, Sebastian, and Sydney said their favorite memory of second grade was Track and Field Day.

Noah and Jayce and Evan said their favorite thing was the Cultural Fair.

Jordan said her favorite memory of 2nd grade was the Cultural Fair. It was fun when Bryce and I had a really long line.

Bryce said her favorite memory of 2nd grade was the first day of school because she got to meet new friends.

Cyrus and Connor said their favorite memory was the swim meet, because they got to swim.

Abby B said favorite memory was when she went to field day since she likes to run a lot.

Weston said his favorite memory was when he went to 2nd grade and met his teacher Mrs. Ingold and his class. Second grade is the best grade you could ever be in. Second grade is the best!!!
