Physical Education

The Physical Education Department promotes and helps students to develop physically, socially, and emotionally. The department believes that through a wide variety of activities, students can learn life lessons. The department structures the Lower School program as the building blocks of a strong foundation for the next level. Through rhythmic and basic movement, games, self-testing activities, and various other physical exercises, students learn many developmental skills. These skills involve eye-hand coordination, jumping, running, and working together for a common goal. The Middle School program reinforces and builds on the foundation of the Lower School by emphasizing social skills, individual and lifetime sports, and team concepts. The development of proper social and emotional responses in competition is important. The program stresses the importance of being physically fit while enjoying the many activities.
