Professional Development
Phoenix Country Day School encourages, facilitates, and funds a wide range of professional development opportunities for faculty, administration, and staff, both full-time and part-time. Training and professional development contributes to teacher, staff, and school improvement in many ways. In the classroom, such experiences provide the foundation for offering new courses and for improving existing ones. Teachers are given new perspectives and networking opportunities, all of which serve to reinvigorate one’s commitment to teaching and provide a model of life-long learning for students. Outside of the classroom, professional development provides new skills and expertise to enhance the administration and operation of the School.
The professional development budget is administered by the Employee Professional Development Committee. The Committee is charged with providing funds for conferences, workshops, continuing education courses, Yellott innovation grants, and other employee enrichment opportunities.
