Three Wonderful Ways to Support Children

As Phoenix Country Day School strives to be a private school with a public purpose, you can help provide educational opportunities for deserving students. PCDS would like you to consider supporting the programs described below. Arizona law allows you to contribute to a School Tuition Organization (STO) and to a public school Tax Credit Organization at any time in the same year. Qualified corporations may donate to the Corporate Tax Credit program. The contributions you make can be credited dollar-for-dollar against your Arizona state income tax as a TAX CREDIT, not a donation!

Instead of sending your tax dollars to the state of Arizona, you can redirect your money to support children at these schools. The AISSF funds will be used to support students who receive financial aid at PCDS. The funds for Griffith Elementary School or Larry C. Kennedy School will be used to finance a variety of programs that support students. Your support of these programs will cost you nothing out-of-pocket and will enhance the educational experiences of many children.

Phoenix Country Day School

Arizona Independent Schools Scholarship Foundation (AISSF)

The Arizona Independent Schools Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1998 to provide tuition aid to students with verified financial need attending an independent, non-profit school in the state of Arizona. AISSF member schools are Phoenix Country Day School, Green Fields Country Day School, and St. Gregory College Preparatory School.

For 2012, married couples filing jointly may contribute up to $1,006 and single taxpayers or couples filing separately may contribute up to $503 to AISSF. A tax credit is subtracted directly from the income tax withheld or owed to the state. Thus a contribution to a School Tuition Organization costs the contributor nothing. New this year: Once you have completed your first tax credit, you can take advantage of the new second tax credit and double the amount.  Complete details can be found at www.AISSF.org.

To make a credit card contribution online, visit www.AISSF.org. To qualify for the 2012 tax year, the program allows you to make a donation up until the income tax deadline of April 15. However, AISSF encourages you to make your contribution by December 31, 2012. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees will meet in May 2013 to distribute the funds to financial aid recipients at PCDS.

Public School Tax Credit Organization

Griffith Elementary or Larry C. Kennedy School

PCDS is recommending two schools in neighboring districts that could benefit greatly from your support. Phoenix Country Day School is actually located within the Creighton School District boundary and the Balsz School District is located to the south. Both of these school districts struggle to receive adequate funding for some of their most basic needs.

How much may be donated to the Public School Tax Credit? For 2012, married couples filing jointly may contribute up to $400 and single taxpayers or couples filing separately may contribute up to $200. Without the support of Tax Credit Funds, these schools would not be able to finance important programs.
