6th Grade end of year

Dear Parents,

As we transition into the third trimester, we will begin the final stages of preparing the sixth grade class for seventh grade. Part of this process includes a modified final exam schedule and end of the year project presentations, similar to what they will experience in seventh grade, but on a smaller scale. Students will be taking a final assessment only for English and Spanish. As a result, the last two weeks of school have a special schedule. Please click here for complete details.

We are thrilled to announce that the sixth grade has teamed up with TED-Ed Clubs for the sixth grade end of the year project. Each sixth grade student is in the process of creating a two to three minute TED-style talk that showcases his or her interests and passions. The goals of the TED-Ed Clubs are to stimulate and celebrate creative ideas, to work with a generation of problem solvers, critical thinkers, and innovators, to make the world a better place, as well as to function as a platform for student ideas. Likewise, the club aims to support students in developing presentation and public speaking skills, so their ideas can be more easily seen, understood, shared, and acted upon.

If you are not familiar with TED talks, we would encourage you to check them out at https://www.ted.com/talks.

You are cordially invited to attend your student’s TED Talk Viewing Party on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 9:00AM- 11:00AM.
