Lower School Absence Procedures
If A Student is Absent...
Please communicate with the Lower School Office (LSoffice@pcds.org or 602.381.4527). Our office will inform your child's teacher(s). When an absence extends beyond two days, you may request schoolwork for your child, if appropriate.
Arriving Late or Leaving Early...
Students arriving after 7:50 a.m. must be signed-in at the Lower School office. If you need to pickup your child early, please come to the Lower School office to meet and sign-out your child. Advanced notice of an early pickup is helpful, so we can have your child packed-up and waiting for you in our office.
Following the County Rules, the nurse recommends the following procedures:
- A child with a temperature of 100 or higher should not attend school for 24 hours after the temperature has returned to normal.
- A child who is vomiting should not attend school until 24 hours after the last episode.
- A child with diarrhea should not attend school for 24 hours after the last episode.
- A child with a sore throat should be checked by your physician. A child diagnosed with strep throat should not attend school until a minimum of 24 hours has passed after starting antibiotics.
